For Parents

Parents are a driving force behind the success of The Imago School. They are regarded not only as their children’s first and most influential teachers but also as essential supports to The Imago School’s on-going endeavor to educate their children.

While Imago strongly encourages parental volunteering, it recognizes that certain seasons in one’s life can prohibit it; thus the school does not require it.

There is much to do as an Imago parent throughout the course of the school year, not only for the school but also to feed and enrich one’s own mind and spirit. Every Friday morning, a Parent’s Lit. Class gathers at the school to discuss a pre-selected book. A monthly gathering for parents to consider key issues in the culture which have a bearing on child-rearing will meet this year during the last period on Tuesdays. Also, some parents attend a Mom-to-Mom meeting at a local church. Slightly more ad hoc is the Thursday Morning Coffee Klatch, when various mums and dads go out for a quick coffee and gab somewhere local.

These more structured activities inevitably lead to a natural outgrowth of friendships and many a spontaneous get-together springs from these meetings. Attendance at them is, of course, not mandatory, but strongly encouraged – you won’t regret it!
